College Sports Information Directors of America

College Sports Information Directors of Americaor CoSIDA is the organization that has since 1952 bestowed Academic All-American recognition on male and female athletes in Divisions I, II, and III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)—covering all NCAA championship sports—and NAIA athletes.〔 〕
==History==
CoSIDA was originally a part of the American College Public Relations Association (ACPRA). It split and was established as a separate organization in 1957 for sports information directors at all levels.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=General Info: What is CoSIDA? )〕 At the original 1957 meeting there were 102 attendees as of 2010 there are over 2,400 members in the United States and Canada.
Recently, CoSIDA has selected the Academic All-Americans, which have been presented by ''ESPN The Magazine''. On January 31, 2011, Capital One Financial Corporation announced a partnership with CoSIDA to become the title sponsor of the Academic All-America Program.
Currently, CoSIDA is responsible for the annual selection of 816 Academic All-Americans in men's soccer, football, basketball, baseball and track and field/cross country and women's soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and track and field/cross country as well as at-large teams for both men and women in Division I, II and III and NAIA in all NCAA championship sports.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=CoSIDA Membership Benefits )〕 Currently, the sports that CoSIDA recognizes as eligible for at-large Academic All-American recognition are: women's bowling, women's crew, men's and women's fencing, wmmen's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and men's wrestling.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Academic All-America )
